Opening Thursday, December 2, 2021: Rick Stewart – Snap Shots

Vermillion presents Rick Stewart’s street photography, which is a genre that records every day life in public spaces that enables the photographer to take candid pictures of strangers, often without their knowledge. He also finds inspiration in architecture and dramatic, natural lighting.
Rick Stewart is influenced by 20th century painters such as Stuart Davis, Frank Stella, David Hockney, Mark Rothko and Marcel Duchamp.
He grew up as an “army brat” and lived in 13 different places before graduating high school. After graduating from the University of Virginia, he lived in New York City before settling in Seattle in 1995.
