Opening Thursday, September 3, 2020: Carolyn Hitt – Forever Now

| September 1, 2020

Vermillion is continuing with the “socially distant” gallery concept and providing access to the front window area and limited gallery hours.

Forever Now
Opens September 3, 2020
Show runs through September 13.

Carolyn Hitt is a “social expressionist”– a term she uses to clarify that her ultimate purpose is to bring about creative involvement through community-engaged practices. From her brainchild, The Relevant Unknowns, a yearbook-style directory of artists, activists, and innovators living/working in the Seattle area, to Tuesday Teas at Blue Cone Studios, her weekly experiment in radical hospitality,

Hitt’s focus has always been to make space for those who are not already in the spotlight. Content to work behind the scenes, her prolific creative practice (acting, curating, painting, community building, etc) includes activating community around emerging artists across disciplines. Forever Safe Spaces, her newest project is a crowdsourced foundation that directly addresses both housing instability and income inequality as they directly impact the artists most marginalized within our communities. She is motivated by urgency, passionate about rebuilding better and more inclusive systems, and inspired by the promise of creating beyond boundaries.

Vermillion will be donating it’s commission (after fees) from this show to help Carolyn’s new project Forever Safe Spaces (feat. The Angel Pod Coalition). Details coming soon.
