Named after a seductively kitschy Ennio Morricone track, VALMONT’S PAD is a DJ night geared to spark libidos in unobvious ways. It originally happened at the now-defunct Living Room bar a couple of years ago, and now host DJ E-Z ACTION is resurrecting the event with help from DJ Explorateur and VEINS. The aural menu includes what E-Z ACTION calls “sexadelic sounds”—exploitation soundtracks, sleazy library music, Italo disco, and XXX-rated funk, mostly from the ’60s and ’70s. Valmont’s Pad is all about DJs plumbing their deep record collections for the most provocative cuts imaginable. As E-Z Action says, it’s “the way out sound from far in.”
