Natasha Marin
“MOTHERLAND”
Opens Thursday, April 7, 2022. 5pm
Second Thursday Artwalk: April 14, 6-9pm
(Show runs through 4/30/22)

The latest in the Black Imagination constellation of exhibitions, Natasha Marin’s MOTHERLAND explores belonging and displacement during these uncertain times. This unique exhibition comes to fruition with support from community who co-created one of the masquerades on display at Vermillion.

While artist-in-residence at the Burke Museum, Marin collaborated with visitors of all ages to create Cloth Mother— a masquerade built to resolve the “mother wound” made of raw cotton, cowry shells, tribal, kente, and Ankara fabrics sourced directly from the motherland.
