Ditizen Utopia is a cathartic reflection of isolation and community during a time where the struggle to be unbothered is tested daily.

Cyreeta Mitchell is a Seattle artist free from the fidelity of a single medium. Like a memory or a mother tongue, she paints as though she is remembering this craft (which she has of course, studied, just not by stacking degrees from Elite White Art Schools). Between a brush and a needle, Mitchell finds windows of catharsis— rest for her own passionate Black Body. Through the quiet practice of collaboration she winnowed away her own self-doubt— Black Womxn are so often exalted in this way. Her recent creative work has been awarded, privately commissioned, exhibited, sold, collected and shared In Seattle and beyond. Cyreeta Mitchell did not write this bio, because Cyreeta Mitchell would never take up space telling you all about herself. That’s just not what she’s into. (Credit to Natasha Marin)

She’s highly supported by an artistic family, especially her grandma, who made her a crib out of wood & macramé, as well as a child’s rocking chair. She became focused on the arts as an art teachers assistant at Pratt Fine Art Center and Urban Artworks. She also took classes at the Seward Park Clay Studio.

Cyreeta is an avid world traveler and finds various cultures to be her biggest inspiration. Her next adventure will be to Africa.
