Previously: Opening Thursday, February 13, 2020 6-9pm: Heartbreak Science Fair

This medley of science-meets-art event offers opportunities for people of all ages and interests to connect on the relationships of art, science and heartbreak. The biennial event varies largely based off of the projects proposed, and can vary from one year to another. There are nearly 20 artists involved in this group art and science show.
Work on display includes, Dominique Nick’s hand-built interactive sound machines, detectors, and unique assemblage pieces. Scientist Simon Winder unfolds visual projections based off of the building blocks of the universe. Artists Ro Fonder Reeve, Ruth Arterburn, Ferdous Ahmed, Theresa Oborn, Julie Campbell bring their own variety of mixed media and assemblage art to this concoction. Other artists include: Hunter Barrett, Jack Daw, Jeff Larson & Andrew Cole (BioScope collaborative work), Jessica Jones, Jody Joldersma, Petraart3D, Taylor Hurley.
Special features of the opening date include Valentine gifts and cards. In addition, performance art by Krista Lee Wolfe, sonic effrontery by Dominique Nick’s Quartettettet Tet, and beats by Specs Wizard (Seattle Hip-Hop’s elder statesman) beginning at 8pm. Be part of the experiences and dress to impress by wearing a lab coat goggles, and/or deck yourself out with hearts. While special attire is not mandatory, your presence highly recommended!
This year’s Heartbreak Science Fair is excited to team up with InterConnection, a 501(c)3 non-profit organization based in Seattle whose mission is to bridge the digital divide by making information and communication technology accessible to under-served communities.
