There is a superhero within us all, regardless of our nation of birth, beliefs, orientation, gender identity, race, abilities or family makeup. This collection of portraits and stories celebrates those differences, highlights our commonalities, and embraces what makes us each uniquely American.

Inspired by New York City-based cartoonist, speaker and performance artist Vishavjit Singh, aka Sikh Captain America, photographer Nate Gowdy and a merry band of creative present 25+ everyday superheroes whose stories of resilience and tenderness exemplify life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. Included in the collection are Seattle Drag royalty Aleksa Manila and Gaysha Starr, Congresswoamn Pramila Jayapal, Washington State Supreme Court Justice Mary Yu, and former Houston mayor Annise Paker, among many other all-new portraits of folx we know and love.

Come mingle with the team behind the project, as well as those photographed. Drinks are available at the bar with ID.

Free Capitol Hill Art Walk Reception on September 12th from 6-9pm. Show runs from 9/12/19 through Saturday, October 5, 2019 inclusive.
