JazzMomWEBJazz Mom is a Seattle based mixed media street artist, creative consultant, and catcher of dreamz. Born in the early 80’s in Boulder, CO, Jazzy was raised by a strong, single, mother and mentor. Shrouded by an ever-present theme of spirituality, mysticism, and transcendence, Jazzy is constantly dawn to the notion divinity, and a search for that which is beyond consciousness.

At a very early age Jazzy was heavily influenced by a delirium of psychedelic sensory saturation, and cultural fusion. Drawing inspiration from indigenous and primitive aspects of humanity along with strong roots in hip-hop, punk rock, and tattoo cultures, Jazzy has been slowly cultivating a distinctive blend of visual language. By creating this new language based on Improvisation, hybridity and collage a unique personalized narrative of a collective culture is revealed. Through the use of universal symbols, patterns, and themes, Jazzy invents a delicious ambiguity in a melting pot of electric organics.

In 2009 Jazzy received a B.F.A. degree with a dual major in glass and the Studio for Interrelated Media program. Jazzy has been selected to be a visiting artist at the Tacoma Museum of Glass and has received scholarships to study at the Glass Furnace in Istanbul, Penland School of Crafts, North Carolina, and Pilchuck Glass School, Stanwood, WA.
